What is the Skiin Connected Clothing System?

The Skiin Connected Clothing System is an ecosystem of connected devices, including Skiin Garments, Skiin Pods, and the Skiin Connected Life app. As you wear your Skiin Garment, the app securely collects biometric health data, which can be viewed at any time.

- **Connect** to loved ones, friends, care circle, and the Skiin community

How does the Skiin Connected Clothing System work?

Accepted Answer

Each Skiin Garment has Electrocardiogram (ECG) sensors in the elastic waistband; these sensors read your heart activity. The garment captures this information and sends it to the Pod, which itself contains sensors for activity level. The Pod compiles all of your health data, and securely and regularly sends it to the Skiin Connected Life App. So while you're wearing the Skiin Garment, you're connected to the system, and can use the app to view your health data in real time.

Who can use the Skiin Connected Clothing System?

Our system is designed for any health-conscious individual age 18 or older, who wants to track their own health data and/or share this data with loved ones or health care professionals.

Our Connected Clothing garments should not be used by people who use pacemakers and/or (ICD) implantable cardioverter defibrillators, or by pregnant women.

The Skiin Connected Life app is for users ages 12 and up.

How long does it take the Skiin Pod to be fully charged and how will I know when it is done?

Accepted Answer

The Pod's light is red when the battery is low, yellow while charging, and switches to green once fully charged. Charging a Pod from low to full battery should take about 90 minutes.

On the Skiin Connected Life app, your Pod's battery status appears in the Devices screen.

Should I be concerned about any material allergens or irritants?

Accepted Answer

The Skiin Garment band includes carbon and silver thread. Our fabrics have passed third-party biocompatibility testing, and have been deemed safe for use. But if you have a silver allergy, we don't recommend using our garments.

If you experience any irritation while wearing a Skiin Garment, please stop wearing it immediately, and contact us at support@skiin.com.

What materials is the Skiin garment made of?

Accepted Answer

**Underwear Bottoms:**

93.7% bamboo and 6.3% Spandex, plus woven carbon and silver conductive thread. We chose bamboo for its antibacterial nature, breathability, moisture-wicking qualities, fast drying ability, and thermal regulation. Bamboo fabric is also anti-static; it won't cling to other materials.

**Material Composition by Product:**

- **Underwear Band** — 69% Nylon, 26% Spandex, 5% other materials
- **Chest Band** — 69% Nylon, 26% Spandex, 5% other materials

How do I wash and dry my Skiin Garment?

**Washing Instructions:**

1. **Remove the Pod** before washing
2. Place one or more Skiin Garments into the washing bag provided with the garment
3. Wash in a cold-water cycle with similar-colored clothing

**Drying Instructions:**

1. Keep the garment(s) in the provided washing bag
2. Dry on a low-heat or delicate setting
3. Garments can be dried on their own, or with other clothing

What sizes is the Skiin Underwear garment available in?

Our garments come in men's XS, S, M, L, XL, and women's XS, S, M, L, XL. Larger sizes are coming soon!

Each garment box comes with a "Try Me On" item. Please try this item on before opening any other garments.

The Skiin Pod battery typically lasts 3 - 3.5 days on a full charge, depending on usage.

How many Skiin Pods can I pair with my Skiin Connected Life App?

Accepted Answer

At this time, the app can be paired with one Skiin Pod. But you can use the same Pod in different garments. In the future, we plan to have different versions of the app that can pair with multiple Pods.

Can I use the Pod I received with one Skiin Garment for another Skiin Garment?

Accepted Answer

Yes! The Skiin Pod is designed for interchangeability between garments. So if you initially purchase a pair of underwear, and then purchase a bra or tank top separately, you can use the initial Pod in either garment. All garments capture the same biometric data, so you can choose whichever you are comfortable with on any given day.

To switch a Pod from one garment to another, simply insert the Pod in the garment's dock and navigate to the Devices page in the app. Tap on the device to switch to

What precaution should I take when travelling with my Skiin garment?

Accepted Answer

**Important:** Skiin Pods contain a lithium rechargeable battery, and therefore should not be included in checked bags.

**If requested by security:**

1. Remove the Skiin Pod from the garment
2. Disable Bluetooth on your phone
3. You can provide security with the statement listed below

**After your flight:**

1. Re-insert the Skiin Pod in the garment dock
2. Turn Bluetooth back on
3. Pair the Pod with the App

Why is my underwear not drying after a full cycle?

As the garments are made of bamboo blend, they don't dry as quickly as normal fabrics. Try drying the skiin garment again on a short cycle or lay flat to dry naturally.

What are the system requirements for the Skiin Connected Life app?

Accepted Answer

The Skiin Pod can be paired with the app, running on any Android mobile device with OS 9.0 or above, or any iPhone with iOS 13.0 or above. For best results, we recommend using a mobile device with Bluetooth 4.2 capability. At this time, the app is not compatible with tablets or smart watches.
